We've been a bit quiet of late as we're putting our heads together to
make out first full album. A lot of thought, work and energy has gone
into what will undoubtedly be our biggest project to date. We've still
got a long way to go but things are coming together nicely and we've
found support, help and inspiration from a host of Artists that we
really respect so expect a few new and interesting collaborations when
the album finally drops. We'll keep you as posted as we possibly can on
things as it comes together but we won't be giving too much away in
terms of track, collabs previews ect.
Last Month we had the pleasure of bringing Danny Red to Dublin and with
the help of Barry at Gorilla Studios and Brian & Amanda who shot
and co-Directed this video which for now will be the only album
preview. This track is called 'Ask mi a question' Hope you like it,
feel free to share, blog ect. if your feelin' the vibes. Big thanks to
Danny Red for the sweet vocals.
March was a great month for us, we did a little tour taking in England, Wales, Greece, Germany and Romania and have to big up each and everyone involved, promoters, punters, drivers, venue managers and everyone else we're forgetting here. Catch us in Bristol (Now our second home:) on Fri April 13th at Ruffneck Discotech.
In between the travel and the gigs we've made some inroads to what will be our first album. We're really excited about this project and have enlisted the help of some World class artists along the way. We don't know when it will be available as yet possibly before Xmas (all going well.) Here's a sneak preview of one of the tracks called ''ask mi a question'' featuring Danny Red, the video was shot in Dublin in March, hope you like it, please feel free to share it if you do.
Also if you have the time please give the Irish Moss Records page a quick like and keep up with all releases and some exclusive free tunes we will put up for download asap.
One year has passed since we released our first Irish Moss Record Which had our Friend Blend Mishkin From Greece team up with UK Reggae Vocalist/MC Brother Culture for the track: 'Lyrical Jam.' It seems like only a few weeks a go now but boy has a lot happened here at Irish Moss HQ. It's massively rewarding to glue Reggae music to the types of more modern music we like to represent such as such as Drum N Bass, Dubstep, Moombahthon, Breakbeat, House ect. whilst pressing vinyl and making official videos for the artists we invite to Dublin and work with us. Its also been great to work with a lot of people we have looked up to and respected for a long time (Screechy Dan, Chip Fu, Top Cat, Brother Culture) and some new comers that we are sure are gonna take off this year like Whandah the Dainty Queen and Werd 2Jah in the USA or, Chantelle Ernandez who's been hotly tipped by Sir David Rodigan of all people and even appearing on his radio shows and live at his DJ gigs.
To Celebrate the occasion we are Bringing over UK Reggae Veteran Danny Red to the Twisted Pepper on Fri March 2nd along Side Dirty Dubsters Live show complete with Sax, Percussion, MC Kwasi plus Live Visuals From our resident VJ Hydra.
Also on the night from Dublin Stalwarts Worries Outternational Soundsystem is Soundman Soro and representing the new breed will be the Punky Reggae Party Crew DJ's Carax, Paul V + Antrophe.
Sounds on the Night will represent the vibe of the label with: Reggae, HipHop, Dancehall, Dubstep, Moombahton, DnB with Live performances and musicianship all help down by the host with the most and one of the best in the business MC Kwasi Asante. There will be Jerk Chicken and Soul food available on the night and also an ''Irish Moss'' cocktail available from the Rum Bar which will be hosted by our good friends of the Trenchtown Crew who definitely hold the best weekend in the land down at the Picnic each year so there's a lot going on and we hope you can join us to make it a great night.
There's currently reduced list 5euro entry avail by writing ''irish Moss Records'' on the event wall and everyone who has done so will be on the cheap guests list.
Below is a few Irish Moss Records official videos and a cheeky unofficial remix we did for Danny red which we will have to explain over a dinner in Dublin very soon :) Enjoy, thanks for all the support and see you on the 2nd of March,
Irish Moss Records are delighted to present the massive release from Flateline featuring vocals from Werd2jaH.
The UK Future Reggae Collective 'FLATLINE' have teamed up with US Based MC 'Werd2Jah' for a stomping 2011/2012 Bass heavy release where we are aptly instructed to 'Slow Down' as Werd's Rasta Vocals sit perfectly on top of The Slow, Grinding Bass Heavy step proving it to be a perfectly executed piece of future Dub from the Flatliners.
On the Remix Duties Bristolian ARIES takes up deep into Jungle territory Whilst Adam Faz goes into a rather massive NuSchool Breaks and Dubstep version, Dub Offensive also pump it up with a big dubstep production, meanwhile the Dirty Dubsters take it to a stepping, UK Funky 4X4 Version of the original.
Available on itunes, juno, amazon and most good digital music shops
